While walking around the UTMB campus the other day this angle of an otherwise boring building combined with the setting sun's golden rays really caught my eye. I know you are supposed compose an image in such a way that the viewer's eyes are drawn into the photo and don't want to leave, but this picture goes the other way. I like this shot because the lines create the exact opposite effect, sending your eyes straight off the top right corner. It's disturbing because the light draws you back in. It's a constant struggle, a discord. I hope you like this photo, but if you hate it I completely understand.

Old Red at UTMB
Thursday, April 24, 2008Somehow I removed this picture from the blog, so here it is again. This building is quite old, and even survived the 1900 hurricane. For more info, check it out here
Old Red is a challenge to photograph because of all the trees in the way. This is the best shot I was able to get.
