Spending a lot of money for lighting is just beyond me right now despite the economic stimulous package which is going to help buy shocks and pay for a move. I never thought I'd photograph birds, but I've discovered it's kind of fun. The thought of looking at a collection after years of working on it makes me think it could be rewarding. I don't have a true telephoto lens yet, so it's a challenge to get in close enough to get any kind of shot at all without disturbing the bird.

Driving past these boats on the way to work every day, I never noticed the sunken one. Taking pictures has opened a new world to me, or at least a world I'd been going to fast to notice.
